PTI Stamp-a-faire 2013: Gallon: Quart: Pint Color Challenge

SAF-2013-Logo

Looks like this was another successful Stamp-a-faire organized by none other than Nichole Heady & her awesome DT. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to participate yesterday so am rushing with hopes to attempt a few challenges yet tonight. My first attempt is Betsy's theory of color balance to create a project using the gallon:quart:pint concept. Inspired by the colors in a woman's knit top at church, I realized it fit this concept perfectly.

In case it's not obvious, my gallon (most color) is Memento Tuxedo Black, my quart (less color than gallon) is Close to Cocoa and my pint (least color) is Groovy Guava. This was a fun technique and will definitely use it in the future.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)
Cardstock: Vintage Cream & Black
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Close to Cocoa & SU Groovy Guava
Stamps: Iconic Images & Botanical Silhouettes
Other: Black button & Twinery twine

PTI August 2013 Blog Hop

This month's Blog Hop challenges us to use one of the Fast Food Color & Sketch's shown on Nichole's Blog.

Here's the color & sketch I chose because I love strawberry-rhubarb pie.

Even though my card doesn't come close to resembling the delicious-looking lattice pie above, I did use the colors and sketch to create this "Note of Thanks" card.

Cardstock: Kraft, SU Groovy Guava, SU Certainly Celery & SU Barely Banana
Ink: SU Real Red & VersaMark
Stamps: Mat Stack #4 Collection and SP & Co Musical Background

PTI Make It Monday #129: White Crayon Resist

Since I bought a new box of crayons just for Heather Nichol's crayon resist technique for PTI's Make It Monday, I had to force myself to stay up late just to create this card. Had company all week so this was my only chance to get in my stamping room.

It's difficult to see where I used my white crayon outlining the flower centers and leaf veins, but they did resist my dauber of Harvest Gold ink on white cardstock. This is popped up on dimensionals over a Hawaiian Shores Nestabilities circle. The Simply Chartreuse leaves are tucked behind my sentiment, which is raised up with dimensionals. I love the color combination, and the card is growing on me.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)
Cardstock: White, Winter Wiseria, Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold & Hawaiian Shores
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Winter Wisteria, Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold & Hawaiian Shores
Stamps: Lovely Layers & Natural Beauties
Dies: Turning A New Leaf & Fabulous Frames
Other: WHite Crayon, Circle Nestabilities, Sponge Dauber, Black Sequins & SU Dimensionals

PTI Make It Monday #128: Stamping Random Background Patterns

No surprises here! It's Sunday night once again, and I'm squeezing this entry into Papertrey Ink's MIM before the deadline early tomorrow morning. Ashley Newell showed us how to use any color combination and individual stamps to randomly stamp creating our own background. Well, I did just that but kept mine to one layer ~ clean and simple, easy peasy!

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)
Cardstock: Rustic White
Ink: Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold, SU Pumpkin Pie, SU Baroque Burgundy & SU Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Think Big Favorites #6 & Beautiful Butterflies
Other: SU Chocolate Chip Marker & sequins

PTI Make It Monday #127: Double Backgrounds

It's only Friday, and I'm posting my latest creation for this week's Make It Monday.  Dawn McVey inspired us to create a really fun and interesting double background using two different stamps. This was certainly a different challenge out of my comfort zone, but it's healthy to attempt those once in a while. Here's my "wishing you a very happy birthday" card using Crackled and Background Basics: Chevron Stripes for my double background:

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)
Cardstock: Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Harvest Gold, New Leaf, SU Baroque Burgundy & SU Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Kraft, SU Baroque Burgundy & SU Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Wonderful Words: Birthday, Cracked & Background Basics: Chevron Stripes
