PTI SAF 2015: More Patterns and Runway Inspiration Challenges

Just had to use Dawn McVey's Go-To-Card Pattern #4 for the Patterns Challenge and also her Runway Inspiration for a thank you card as I continue working on more cards for PTI's SAF.

Dawn

Dawn-recipe

My watercolored background on Stamper's Select White card stock was created using Simply Chartreuse ink smeared on an old CD case spritzed with water. Dawn's card was so beautiful I wanted to create something similar using the color palette above.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and Simply Chartreuse
Ink: Scarlet Jewel, Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz, Ripe Avocado and Simply Chartreuse
Stamps: Mum's The Word
Dies: Mum's The Word and Edgers Die #1
Other: CD case spritzed with water for watercolored background and SU Dimensionals

PTI SAF 2015: Bridal Challenge

The official kick-off for PTI's Stamp-A-Faire was on Saturday, August 29. The Bridal Challenge was to create a wedding card using nothing but white…except for a neutral ink color for the sentiment. Decided to give this one a try, and I kinda like it.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Sheer Basics Vellum and Luxe Gold Adhesive Sheets
Ink: None
Stamps: None
Dies: Limitless Layers 2-1/4" Hearts and Swoosh
Other: Divine Swirls Embossing Folder

PTI SAF 2015: Another Card for Mix + Match and Threads Challenges

My third card was very challenging for me because I struggled with cutting the right angles for my three patterned papers selected based on what Betsy showed us here for the Mix + Match Challenge. Attached twine to a button in a "new-to-me" way as explained and shown in the video here by Danielle.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Hawaiian Shores and Lilybee Design Head Over Heels
Ink: Blueberry Sky and Hawaiian Shores (for blending)
Stamps: None
Dies: Uncorked Words
Other: Hawaiian Shores Button, Twinery Twine, Glue Dots, SU Dimensionals, SU Ticket Corner Punch and Blending Tool

PTI SAF 2015: Mix + Match and Threads Challenges

Continuing on creating for PTI's Stamp-A-Faire event, my second card combines the Mix + Match and Threads Challenges. Mixing Patterns by Betsy Veldman and Twine Techniques by Danielle Flanders inspired me to break out my new Triangle Trio Die. Betsy showed us how to use at least three different patterned papers considering small, medium and large designs and cutting the paper to coincide with those same sizes. Danielle showed us 10 different ways to use twine on our projects. Here's what I created.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and Studio Calico Here & There Collection
Ink: VersaMark and Dark Chocolate
Stamps: Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
Dies: Triangle Trio and Celebrations
Other: Button, Darice Hemp Cord, Vellum Runner, Glue Dots and Clear Embossing Powder

PTI SAF 2015: Patterns and Runway Inspiration Challenges

Because I was gone all weekend for a family wedding out of state, my Papertrey Ink Stamp-A-Faire participation started today and is ending late tonight. Using Nichole's Go-To Pattern #11 here, I created my first card.

Amy

Starting with Spring Rain ink on white card stock, I blended from the top down and finished with Blueberry Sky. Then I stamped my sentiment in Enchanted Evening matching the colored mat which was adhered to a white card base. Trying to get back in the stamping mode, I used the pattern above and went with it. I also used Betsy Veldman's Runway Inspiration here for my color combination.

So, my card below meets the requirements for the two challenges mentioned above.

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and Enchanted Evening
Ink: Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky and Enchanted Evening
Stamps: Reasons To Smile
Dies: Jolly Holiday

PTI MIM #221: Masking Sentiments

No one will believe this but I actually made the card on Monday, the day that Ashley shared her tips and techniques for masking sentiments for this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday. We've had company until today so I'm just getting around to posting this. My first attempt was cut off a white card base (salvaged one half) and tossed in the garbage. Without further ado, here's my card.

Anyone else have trouble capturing the true color of Sweet Blush card stock? Maybe it's just because I'm using my iPad and don't have a fancy DSLR camera.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Sweet Blush
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Tropical Teal, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, Smokey Shadow, Royal Velvet and Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps: Signature Greetings, Half & Half, Bitty Bouquet and Harvest Berries
Dies: Fabulous Frames (for my sentiment mask)
Other: MS Scoring Board, SU dimensionals and Sharpie (fine tip)

PTI MIM #219: Texture Kissing

Lizzie was this week's presenter for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge here, and she shared how to add texture to stamped images (hence the name, Texture Kissing).

It's been in the 90s here all week and too hot to be upstairs in my stamping room even with the ceiling fan blowing on me so I waited until the final hours to attempt Lizzie's texturing method. My biggest challenge was the lack of good background stamps and solid stamps that I thought would work. In need of a birthday card for my BIL, I was on the hunt for inspiration. Thanks, Heather, for this idea!

I loved the design but wanted it to be different even though her colors were perfect for a masculine card. Here's what I came up with and will definitely try this layout again.

My texturing was done using Birthday Style on the Simply Chartreuse balloon, Crackled on the Canyon Clay and Chevron Stripes on the Scarlet Jewel. I should have listened to Lizzie and used lighter inks, but I was determined to use more masculine colors.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Scarlet Jewel and Kraft
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Scarlet Jewel, Simply Chartreuse, Canyon Clay and VersaMark
Stamps: Birthday Style, Crackled, Celebrations, Background Basics: Chevron Stripes and Keep It Simple: Birthday
Dies: Birthday Style and Sketched Shapes
Other: SU dimensionals and Sharpie (fine tip)
