PTI MIM #272: Masked Heart Wreaths

Loved the transformation on Melissa's heart-wreath card when she removed the heart die-cut mask. She shared how to work her magic here for this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday. It was so fun to see my results after removing the heart mask that I created two different designs as shown below. My first one looks like this:

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and New Leaf Bitty Dot
Ink: Amethyst Allure, Autumn Rose, Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup, Green Parakeet, Hawaiian Shores, Ripe Avocado, Scarlet Jewel and New Leaf

Dies: Limitless Layers 2-1/4" Hearts and Wet Paint Cuts III

PTI MIM #255: String Art Using Die-Cuts

This week's Make It Monday Challenge on Nichole's blog was instigated by Amy, and she shared some gorgeous examples using string art accents and focal points using die-cuts. Her video was very detailed and easy to understand. I should have just copied her using the same die-cuts, but I opted to figure out my own.

Modern Background Stencil in Simply Chartreuse on my white card base is the backdrop for my focal image. I wrapped old SU green/white twine up and down the spiral notebook die for my string art. Leaves and blooms are from Color Pops Floral in Melon Berry and Canyon Clay. Sentiments in Simply Chartreuse and splattered all three ink colors in the white space. Added a little Shimmer Wink of Stella to the flower centers, then a piece of striped paper to the bottom before adhering to Canyon Clay. Off to see what other fabulous ideas are out there.

Edited to Add: Also entering "Creative with Stamps" monthly challenge at CWS Challenge 4: Ink Splatters (thanks to Helen)

PTI June Blog Hop Challenge

The Blog Hop Challenge at Papertrey Ink for this month is an inspiration photo entitled "Reef" by Yellena James. It really makes me wonder how Nichole finds all of these unique and beautiful works of art online and then encourages us to be inspired. After all, this is a challenge for card makers.

A little bit of watercoloring and white heat embossing got me jumpstarted. Then I got carried away with the beautiful colors and fun stamps of Color Pops Floral. It ended with this anniversary card.
