PTI MIM #333: Layering Patterns Over Images

Guess what? It's Sunday night and I’m hurriedly creating and posting an entry for the latest Papertrey Ink Make It Monday. Dawn McVey challenged us to layer a pattern over our images and shared tips to accomplish this. No what else? I don’t own a single Cover Up Stamp yet. Hope to change that once Cover Up Grid is restocked. Anyway, it’s been another wild and crazy week with appointments, company and social engagements. Praying for a much quieter week. Here's what I created layering the Crackled Mini Stamp over my leaves. (Note to self: Buy clear embossing powder as mine is too old.)

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted):
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Enchanted Evening and Green Parakeet
Ink: Aqua Must, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Green Parakeet, Enchanted Evening and VersaMark
Stamps: Turning A New Leaf, Crackled Mini and Ways To Say: Birthday
Dies: Sketched Shapes
Other: Clear Embossing Powder, White Crochet Thread and Foam Tape

PTI April 2018 Blog Hop

What a whirlwind of a month April was, and we're already to the 25th! Yes, it's time for another Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink. They came up with a beautiful inspiration photo of stacked teacups.

Since I'm not a tea or coffee drinker, I don't own any "cup" stamps or dies so I used the color scheme and played off the floral design. Here's my take as well as my "lay flat" photography as Lexi shared with us on the Papertrey Blog.

I edged the oval using a Gold Pen and Glitter Gelly Roll Pen. The leaves and flowers were colored using a Blender Pen and PTI inks or SU Markers to carry out the colors in the teacups. The Linen/Canvas layer was done by inking up the impression plate with Aqua Mist ink. To lighten it a bit, I also used a sponge and white pigment ink to lighten it a bit and add more streaks. Before adding my embossed sentiment, I popped up the oval using white foam.

Off to help my DH buy and install a new entry door for our detached garage. We didn't have good luck at two Home Depots the last two days as their doors were so badly misaligned it wouldn't close. Off to check out Lowes. Hope you're seeing sunshine like we are today!

PTI MIM #319: Graffiti Word Art

Lexi Daly was this week's host for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday. She challenged us to create die-cut word art inspired by street art, and you can find details here. Graffiti artists are very talented…just wish they'd use these talents in more useful ways rather than making their marks on other's property. Lexi made it look so easy and shared some great examples of her graffiti art. It was a bit challenging for me to decide on what supplies to use, but here's what I completed.

It is fabulous and so versatile. You can see the florals and the details of the contest here. The instructions say to pull out your favorite floral set and create.

My current favorite is Gran's Gardens so here's what I created.

Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary - Day 1 (Sketch Challenge)

The month we've all been waiting to help Papertrey Ink celebrate their 11th Anniversary. Where has the time gone? It's always exciting to see what's new and participate in the variety of challenges and contests for 10 days in February.

Our first challenge was to choose one of the great sketches provided to create a project. The sketch I chose belongs to Dawn, who we've been praying for (and still are) before and after her small intestine transplant in DC.

This is the year of milestone birthdays for friends and family members. My dear hubby's family has lots of longevity in his family. One of his Mom's two sisters still living will be 100 on February 28, and she got her driver's license renewed last year for five more years.  (Yes, she still drives, just not on freeways anymore). She certainly deserves a special card!
