Ink To Paper The Gift of Packaging- Gift Tags

Thought I’d do something just a little bit different using Tag Sale #4 with Shape Shifters Circle 1 so I did some ink blending using Aqua Mist ink. It’s simple but makes for a cute gift tag for this challenge.

Merry Christmas!

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: Inlaid Die Cuts

Now that the weather outside has changed, perhaps I'll get more time in my stamping room to create. Thought it would be fun to try Laurie's technique for this week's Fabulous Favorites: Inlaid Die Cuts. Canyon Clay seemed like the perfect color for Fall. Besides, we'll be spending time over Thanksgiving with my sister and family so this card will be appropriate.

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Using Kraft

Since Summer is gone here in WA State, it's time to get back to crafting a bit and getting some mojo back. Laurie's Fabulous Favorites challenge this week is to use Kraft cardstock in a project so that's exactly what I did.

In May our friend's grandson, an 8-year-old twin brother, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He has been undergoing extreme treatments ever since as an outpatient at Seattle Children's Hospital. Things for the most part are going pretty well, but the family of five could use some uplifting. This card will accompany the gift card we bought so they can enjoy a family night out. I just know they will be forever grateful.

Ink To Paper Laurie's Fabulous Favorites

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites is to recreate or CASE a project that was used during release week.

Since I need a birthday card for my DH and masculine cards are more challenging, I was thrilled to see these cards by Michelle.

I used a similar color scheme and graphic-style design but used totally different stamps and dies. It was a fun one to create, and now I have pieces leftover to make two more cards. Here's my version.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

Ink To Paper Laurie's Fabulous Favorites (Framed Sentiments)

This week Laurie Schmidlin challenges us to create a card using our favorite way to frame a sentiment. Rather than on the Papertrey Ink Blog, the challenges are now posted on the Ink To Paper Blog here.

Lately it seems like I've been using white card bases for the most part so decided to deviate from that on this thank-you card. Here's my version of a framed sentiment.

Ink To Paper Laurie's Fabulous Favorites (Summer Colors)

It's been another busy week around here so just getting around to creating something for the first Laurie's Fabulous Favorites on the Ink To Paper blog instead of PTI. She challenged us to use our favorite Summer Colors. For me, that's a challenge in itself because I have lots of favorites.

Since I've seen so many rainbow cards lately, I decided to go a little graphic ink blending hearts. Our grandniece recently enlisted in the Marines so she's started her Basic Training. After viewing her grueling schedule, I can't even imagine. The least I can do is make her a card and write her a letter. We are SO proud of her knowing she is following her dream.

PTI's Laurie's Fabulous Favorites (Favorite Tag)

The only challenge this week at Papertrey Ink is Laurie's Fabulous Favorites here. She shared a beautifully embellished trio of Baked With Love Tags for Teacher Appreciation. Those lucky teachers are being recognized with Laurie's talents and delicious cookies.

I almost didn't participate because I rarely have a need for a tag of any kind. Decided to make one just in case I need it. If so, I'll be ready.

This week Laurie challenged us to choose our favorite card layout to participate in Papertrey Ink's Win It Wednesday. Guess I never really thought about having a favorite, but I do use this design or something very similar quite frequently.

PTI's Laurie's Fabulous Favorites (Favorite Shaped Card)

This week at Papertrey Ink the Win It Wednesday Challenge from Laurie is to create a project using a shaped card base.

She had me thinking all week of what else I could use besides my new Scallop Stackers: Medium Die. Well, after two attempts trying to use my Noted: Scalloped A2 Die (full-size A2 one pass) in my Big Shot and failing, I resorted to the lovely stacker. Always in need of birthday cards, here's what I ended up creating.

PTI's Laurie's Fabulous Favorites (Favorite Coloring Technique)

I've been visiting family for Easter this week in Northern MN so squeezing this in before the deadline looms early tomorrow morning. My card is an entry for Laurie's Fabulous Favorites for Papertrey Ink. You can also see more details of her beautiful card on her blog post here. Laurie challenged us to try our hand at our favorite coloring technique.

There are so many different options these days, but I went with ink blending on card stock and the underside of vellum for this sympathy card. Without further ado (so I can get to bed after being up 20 hours), here's my card.

PTI's Laurie's Fabulous Favorites (Favorite Style)

This week for Papertrey Ink's Win It Wednesday Challenge Laurie is sharing her favorite style. She's a modified shabby chic kind of gal. Me, I'm more like clean and simple using a few stamps and die cuts with nothing too unusual.

Believe it or not, I had to mail four sympathy cards yesterday. Even though I could have made four of the same card, I opted to create different ones. This card is very typical of my style.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

PTI's Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Week (Favorite Inspiration Source)

Another challenge up at Papertrey Ink with Laurie, and you can see her floral inspiration and gorgeous card on either site. This week we were allowed to choose our favorite inspiration source. I'm not sure Pinterest is my favorite source, but since I've pinned several things it works for me. It's easy to get inspiration just about anywhere though. On with my card and inspiration.

Here's the beautiful bedspread that inspired me this time.

My Raspberry Fizz ink wasn't exactly the right shade, but you get the idea. Here's my creation!

PTI's Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Week 8 (MIM Option)

Papertrey's Win It Wednesday this week includes Laurie's Fabulous Favorites which challenges us to create a project inspired by an old Make It Monday video. Ironically, I chose MIM #312: Framing Sentiments and Images, which was initially showcased by Laurie in February 2018. That gal is truly an inspiration to me as I love her style!

My card uses new-to-me Give Love, which I initally purchased without the dies because they were Out of Stock. However, they should be at my door within the next week or so. I'm not excited about fussy cutting when there's a much easier way. Here's another birthday card perfect for Spring, and I framed the sentiment and images. The framed background was ink smooshed.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted):
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Tropical Teal and Harvest Gold
Ink: Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold and Smokey Shadow

PTI's Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Week 7 (Color Combination)

This week Laurie challenged us to use our favorite color combination on a project for her Fabulous Favorites Challenge at Papertrey Ink. You can see her beautiful card here using Aqua Mist, Tropical Teal, Harvest Gold and Enchanted Evening. Can't wait to try that combo myself!

She has also inspired me to create a swatch ring of PTI card stocks to select new color combinations. Hopefully I'll get that accomplished this week. For now, here's my sympathy card for my cousin and his wife who just lost her mother. I wanted it bright and cheerful because that was her mother's personality.

PTI Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Week 6 (Favorite Sentiment Stamp or Die)

Another favorite of Laurie's is her sentiments. This week she challenged us to use our favorite sentiment stamp or die. You can see her card and the details on Papertrey Ink's Blog.  My focal point of my card is Big Basics: Wish Big, especially because I need more birthday cards in my stash.

Did anyone notice that I used patterned paper that I've been hoarding? Why do we do this? It's time to use it and make some quick cards (well, quicker than if I had to stamp everything).

Edited to Add: Also entering Hero Arts National Craft Month Challenge with ombré ink blending on this birthday card!

PTI Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Week 5 (Packaging)

This week Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Challenge is to create packaging using Papertrey Ink products. Believe it or not, my entire stash doesn't include any actual packaging dies so I used Noted: Pinked A2 Vertical Dies to create my own package. Keeping it simple but hopefully getting my point across wishing someone good health and gifting them some tea!

In the photo below, you can see the tea packet that fits perfectly inside this package with a flat, stand-up bottom.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

For my card, I combined ideas from Michelle's card for this week's IG Challenge as well as Laurie's Fabulous Favorites. Here's my birthday card.

Finally made it back into my stamping room to create another birthday card featuring die cuts. It’s so windy here today I hope I get this posted before we lose power. PTI Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Week 2

Time for the second week of Win It Wednesday where Laurie shares her favorite card stock colors. Surprise, surprise! She used Pure Poppy and Aqua Mist and created the same card design twice, using each color. Beautifully done, Laurie!

It truly is difficult to choose one or even two favorite PTI card stock colors because I like them all. First colors that came to mind for me (at least today) are Amethyst Allure and New Leaf.  It's almost the end of February and time for my DH's aunt to celebrate her 101st birthday. She was widowed many years ago, still lives independently and is an amazing woman. Hope she likes the heart and added bling!

PTI Laurie's Fabulous Favorites

So, between losing my stamping mojo and living in a whole different world with our wintry weather, DH and I have been working on jigsaw puzzles. So, needless to say, I haven't spent much time in my stamping room. However, I'm desperately in need of rebuilding my stash so started with a birthday card, that qualifies for any age or gender. Score!

For this week's Papertrey Ink Win It Wednesday, Laurie challenges us to use a favorite stamp set. My choice today is CELEBRATE BIG.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

PTI MIM #349: Negative Die Cut Backgrounds

Once again it's time to try this week's Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday. Ashley showed us how she created a background using negative die cuts. I was at a loss for which dies to use because I don't own any that she recommended. After skimming through the thumbnails, I see a variety of ways stampers interpreted this challenge. This is what I created to encourage an acquaintance while she endures a year of chemo treatments for her breast cancer (second time around).

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

PTI MIM #348: Lotsa Letters

This week's Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday is hosted by the very talented Michelle Leone with her vibrant "Fiesta" card using a fun rainbow of letters.

Decided to try my hand at this technique and will definitely keep it in mind for future cards. Rather than use a rainbow of letters, I ink blended the bottoms of mine for an ombré effect. Here's my entry for this week's challenge.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!
