Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge 2017

Did that inspiration photo for this month's Blog Hop Challenge at Papertrey have you drooling for beautifully frosted sugar cookies? The colors sure pop on the black background.

photograph from Julie Baerwald

I was so inspired by the cookies I made two cards: the first totally from scratch, and the second using a mini kit. Sounds just like I was baking, doesn't it?

Thought my new Fancy Foliage Details Dies (NBUS as Darnell would say) might work beautifully with Rosie Posie. If you enlarge the photo, you can see how I highlighted Step 2 of Rosie Posie using my Gelly Roll Glitter Pen.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Basic Black, Raspberry Fizz and New Leaf
Ink: Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz and Pure Poppy
Stamps: Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie Step 2
Dies: Rosie Posie, Fancy Foliage Details, Swoosh, Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical and MFT Stitched Rectangles
Other: White Foam, Stampin' Up Dimensionals and Gelly Roll Glitter Pen

This is the first time I used the dies from this fabulous kit with the preprinted florals. Lining them up was easy (thanks, Betsy), but it was still more time consuming than anticipated. Definitely worth the effort though...at least in my opinion. What to you think?

Some of the die-cuts were popped up for added dimension and highlighted with glossy accents to look more like icing. Popped up the "love" sentiment on white foam, adhered to a white card base and called it finished. Off hopping to see what others created for the challenge!

Also entering the first card in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #9Word Art Wednesday and SSS Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by. I sincerely appreciate your comments. ❤️

PTI's 9th Anniversary Day 5: Sampler Square Challenge

WOW, this was the challenge of all challenges. In fact, several people posted on the PTI Forum for clarification of the rules. This is for Day 5, and here's Nichole's instructions: "…cut nine 1-1/2” squares from white cardstock, then alter all nine of the squares using a variety of techniques, colors, stamps, etc. Be sure to do something different to each square! "

The first challenge was to decide on a color palette, then which stamps would work well in a 1-1/2" square, and which nine techniques to use so each square would be different. My color palette besides Stamper's Select White is: Harvest Gold, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal and Gray/Silver with bits of Black. Here's what my 5-1/2" card looks like:

Techniques & Products Used Per Square: Top Left to Right
Square 1: Smooshing + Sizzix Embosslit Beautiful Wings
Square 2: Emboss Resist + Beautiful Blooms II
Square 3: Dry Embossing + Picnic Plaid Impression Plate & Jolly Holiday Die
Square 4: White Shadowing + Iconic Images
Square 5: Ink Blending + Stylish Sentiments: Birthday and Scene It: Celebration
Square 6: Inlaid Die Cut + Jolly Holiday Die
Square 7: Silver Dipped Die Cut (& heat embossing) + Harvest Berries
Square 8: Two-Step Stamping + Rosie Posie & Rosie Posie Step 2
Square 9: Ombre Stamping + Ruby Reprise

I know just the friend who will be receiving this because she saves all the cards I send her. She will appreciate the hours I spent creating and designing this. Admittedly, it was a fun challenge but not something I'd make on a regular basis because I just don't mail 5-1/2" cards. I'm an A2 kinda gal!

Ink: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Delicata Silvery Shimmer, VersaMark and White Pigment
Stamps: Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2, Beautiful Blooms II, Iconic Images, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday, Scene It: Celebration, Harvest Berries and Ruby Reprise
Dies: Jolly Holiday and Sizzix Embosslit Beautiful Wings
Other: VersaMarker, Silver and Clear Embossing Powders, SU Ticket Corner Punch, Corner Rounder, Rhinestones/Gems, Gelly Roll Glitter Pen and Patterned Paper (stash)

PTI Create Along With Us: July 2015

Thanks to Betsy Veldman Papertrey Ink has started a new challenge where we select something the design team has created and use it for inspiration. The entries for this inaugural challenge can be found here.

Because I needed some sympathy cards (three to be exact), I was inspired by Dawn McVey's "Feel Better" card shown here where she showcases her new Vintage Linens stamp set.

Hibiscus Burst and Pure Poppy are not two colors I would layer even though I've seen lots of beautiful stamped images using them. I just had to try it for myself and after using Rosie Posie, I now realize Vintage Linens is a must-have set (not that I could ever duplicate the one and only Dawn McVey). Here's my card and thanks to MISTI I was able to stamp three in the time it would normally take me to make one. Thanks, Dawn, for the inspiration! There are lots more that inspire me so I am thrilled with this new challenge and will keep this bookmarked.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and Hawaiian Shores
Ink: Hibiscus Burst, Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores and Simply Chartreuse
Stamps: Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2, Boutique Borders: Sympathy and Harvest Berries
Dies: Edgers #3
Other: Wink of Stella

Papertrey April Blog Hop Challenge

Here it is the 25th of April already, and that means it's time for another monthly blog hop challenge at  Papertrey Ink. Isn't that image below just gorgeous? I'd love to be invited for dinner to a table set like this ~ so very classy and on trend.

Navy paired with shades of pink made me think of pretty florals and two-step stamping using Rosie Posie. Since I don't own Maile's new Sentiment Split Curved Dies yet, I cut my split freehand.

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and SU Night of Navy
Ink: Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado and VersaMark
Stamps: Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2 and Keep It Simple: Birthday
