Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop Challenge

Well, it’s the 25th of January and first of the new year Blog Hop Challenge at Papertrey Ink. I’ve definitely lost what little mojo I had after pushing myself to get Christmas cards done and mailed before the very last minute.

Hurried to make a card to participate in the challenge and came up with this festive birthday card inspired by the baby shower cake above.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and True Black
Ink: Melon Berry, Blueberry Sky and VersaFine Onyx Black

PTI November Blog Hop Challenge

Why is it I never seem to have the right stamps for these challenging? No candy cane stamp whatsoever. Guess I'll have to remedy that so it doesn't happen again. Anyway, it's time once again for Papertrey Ink's monthly blog hop. Here's the image to inspire us.

The shade of blue ribbon is like none of the blues I own so I capitalized on the red and white with a touch of Blueberry Sky. My holly was stamped in Pinefeather with red berries. This is the card I created that looks just like a gift box all decked out for Christmas.

Happy Hopping! I can't wait to see what others created based on the above photo.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White
Ink: Blueberry Sky and Pinefeather
Stamps: MFT Hand Lettered Holiday
Dies: Fancy Flakes, Tag Sale #9 (resized) and Noted: Scalloped A2

PTI October Blog Hop Challenge

Well, well, how did this happen already? It's the 25th of October and time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge. Happy Pumpkin Season! That's exactly the inspiration image for this month's challenge.

I stretched my liberties by opting to go with Fall foliage on Kraft card stock and lots of polka dots in lieu of pumpkins.

Have fun hopping!

Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop Challenge

Believe it or not, I'm ahead of schedule because I'm typing this on Sunday evening even though the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop isn't until Tuesday, the 25th. However, I will be enroute bright and early to Boston for my week with girlfriends having fun and sightseeing. Of course, we'll be on the hunt for the best Boston Cream Pie! Anyway, back to the Blog Hop. Here's the fabulous inspiration image as referenced on PTI's blog. If this doesn't put you in the Fall spirit, I don't know what will.

Since I've got a few more things to accomplish before my trip, I'll get on with sharing my card. In case you're wondering, I did add some Dark Chocolate and Summer Sunrise stripes to this Autumn Chicken Scratch paper and framed it using the Cover Plate: Pretty Frame.

While I'm relaxing in our rental, I hope to check out the hop to see what others created. Have a great week, everyone!

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop Challenge & PTI MIM #330: Repeating The Greeting

Here we are already on the 25th of the month so it's time for another Blog Hop Challenge at Papertrey Ink. This is this month's inspiration photo. Because I don't own any Salt Air stamps or dies, I chose to go with the color palette shown in this image.

Thought I'd try something different so I embossed Happy Birthday from Graceful Greetings several times, ink blending them in Blueberry Sky with the exception of one. To highlight one of the repeated sentiments, I opted to layer die-cuts in Pure Poppy to make it stand out. Randomly stamped a few stars in Blueberry Sky and Pure Poppy, adhered a strip of Blueberry Sky to the left side and finished the card. Planning to send this to my BIL, whose birthday is later this month.

This is a two-for-one card as I'm also entering this in Papertrey's Make It Monday #330, where Lizzie Jones challenged us to repeat sentiments on our card.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted):
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and Blueberry Sky
Ink: Blueberry Sky and Pure Poppy

PTI May 2018 Blog Hop

Well, here we are again on the 25th of the month and time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. It's a little chilly here today in Western Washington, but this inspiration photo defines summer. My days of camping have long passed, but I have fond memories of all the fun times we had.

The tablecloth and colorful flowers inspired me to create an anniversary card. Thanks to the recently-purchased Bitty Big: True Black I didn't have to stamp my own gingham.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

PTI April 2018 Blog Hop

What a whirlwind of a month April was, and we're already to the 25th! Yes, it's time for another Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink. They came up with a beautiful inspiration photo of stacked teacups.

Since I'm not a tea or coffee drinker, I don't own any "cup" stamps or dies so I used the color scheme and played off the floral design. Here's my take as well as my "lay flat" photography as Lexi shared with us on the Papertrey Blog.

I edged the oval using a Gold Pen and Glitter Gelly Roll Pen. The leaves and flowers were colored using a Blender Pen and PTI inks or SU Markers to carry out the colors in the teacups. The Linen/Canvas layer was done by inking up the impression plate with Aqua Mist ink. To lighten it a bit, I also used a sponge and white pigment ink to lighten it a bit and add more streaks. Before adding my embossed sentiment, I popped up the oval using white foam.

Off to help my DH buy and install a new entry door for our detached garage. We didn't have good luck at two Home Depots the last two days as their doors were so badly misaligned it wouldn't close. Off to check out Lowes. Hope you're seeing sunshine like we are today!

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and Vellum

This is what you call really beating the clock with my entry for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. The idea is to use their inspiration photo to create a project. So cute!

Seeing that I don't own an Easter stamp or die or a bunny for that matter, I went with the pastel color scheme. Here's my card.

PTI January 2018 Blog Hop

Why is it I know the 25th of the month is just 10 days after the release, but I'm rushing to beat the deadline tonight? I even had all kinds of ideas running through my head as soon as I saw the image posted. Check out Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop Challenge here. The festive birthday photo below is this month's inspirational piece.

I had fun ink blending the colors on the balloons and "popping up" my numbers and sentiment for added dimension. Can you believe I'm actually using some of the paper from the BIG sale last year? Me either as I guess I've been saving it for the perfect opportunity, and this is it! Planning to check out later tonight what other participants created for this month's hop.

Papertrey October 2017 Blog Hop Challenge

Today being the 25th of October means it's time for another Blog Hop Challenge at Papertrey Ink. Nichole must spend hours seeking out gorgeous inspiration pieces for us, and this month is no exception. Since I'm finishing my card at the last minute, I couldn't get too fancy with lots of color and/or watercoloring. Besides, I can use more Thanksgiving cards. Mission accomplished!

Papertrey July 2017 Blog Hop Challenge

Most everyone who follows Nichole's blog knows that the 25th of every month is Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop Challenge. We always get such interesting images to inspire us, and this month's vignette is no exception. Look at the soft blues, grays and a touch of antique gold in this beauty.

Let's just say I incorporated some of what I saw and went with it.
Linda E shared her response on the Forum when the question was posted, Where do you find inspiration? "Someone made a suggestion to me a long time ago to find something that I liked; it could be a card, a photo, fabric, a pillow, whatever. Study your object for a few minutes, then put it away.

Without looking at your inspiration piece again, go make a card based on your observations. I use this suggestion quite a bit."

This is what I created without staring at the image on my iPad like I usually do.

PTI Blog Hop Challenge June 2017

How can it be the 25th of June already? It seems like it was just Christmas! Anyway, it's time for another Blog Hop Challenge at Papertrey Ink. Here's the lovely inspirational piece provided on Nichole's blog.

Because we had such a busy Saturday scheduled, my mind told me I needed to get this card made Friday night and ready to post for Saturday's blog hop. Apparently, I was skipping over the 24th...thinking Saturday was the 25th, and it was way past my bedtime when I finished. Without further ado, here's my card.

I started with a Stamper's Select White card base and added a strip at the bottom to ground my vases. This strip was embossed using the Linen/Canvas Impression Plate and then blended with Soft Stone ink and a blending tool. The vases were also ink blended with Melon Berry and Pinefeather, respectively, to which I added Glossy Accents for a watery effect. The Bitty Bouquet die cuts were stamped using Melon Berry, Bright Buttercup and Simply Chartreuse. I paint splattered some Pinefeather ink on the card base before assembling the card. One flower stem and the Melon Berry vase are adhered using SU Dimensionals. And that's a wrap.
