PTI's Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Week 8 (MIM Option)

Papertrey's Win It Wednesday this week includes Laurie's Fabulous Favorites which challenges us to create a project inspired by an old Make It Monday video. Ironically, I chose MIM #312: Framing Sentiments and Images, which was initially showcased by Laurie in February 2018. That gal is truly an inspiration to me as I love her style!

My card uses new-to-me Give Love, which I initally purchased without the dies because they were Out of Stock. However, they should be at my door within the next week or so. I'm not excited about fussy cutting when there's a much easier way. Here's another birthday card perfect for Spring, and I framed the sentiment and images. The framed background was ink smooshed.

PTI Create Along With Us: October 2018

It was just Release Week at Papertrey Ink so we get to create our own version from DT examples. The most challenging part of this is deciding on which project to use as my inspiration. There were so many awesome ones, and who doesn't love anything to do with the Christmas Season. 

This time I chose a card created by Heather that looks like this. 

Obviously, I couldn't CASE this because I don't have any of the new products she used, but I used similar colors and did my best with what I do have. Yay for another completed Christmas card! 

To make it look more realistic, I topped the white snowfall with glitter glue and stacked my "peace" die-cuts three high for more dimension. If you enlarge the image, you'll see my polka-dot bow has a tiny white pearl in the center. And there you have it.

Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop Challenge

Believe it or not, I'm ahead of schedule because I'm typing this on Sunday evening even though the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop isn't until Tuesday, the 25th. However, I will be enroute bright and early to Boston for my week with girlfriends having fun and sightseeing. Of course, we'll be on the hunt for the best Boston Cream Pie! PTI MIM #329: Creating Stencils from Die Cuts

This week I'm joining Melissa Phillips for her Papertrey Ink Make It Monday where she challenges us to make our own stencil from die-cuts. Once again I'm a bit out of my comfort zone but just had to make the attempt. 

To start with, I die-cut the most inner layer of Mix & Mat: Postal from acetate to save it for future stenciling. Thanks, Melissa, as I will definitely keep this in mind to make those dies even more versatile. A little ink blending and layering of die-cuts and I've got this pretty sympathy card.

PTI MIM #291: Patterns Behind Die-Cut Windows

This week it's Dawn McVey with Make It Monday for Papertrey Ink. She shared with us how she adds patterns behind die-cut windows so I just had to give it a try. If you want more details on how to play along, head over to Nichole's blog. You can view Dawn's gorgeous card on either website. Since I don't yet own Gran's Garden, here's what I came up with for a thank-you card. My SU Basic Gray card base is a bit smaller than the usual size so the Garden Grace floral spray could hang over the edges and still fit in an A2 envelope. 

Since I heat embossed the popped up Garden Grace die-cut, I should have watercolored them or used my Zigs rather than stamping over the embossing powder. I'll try that next time. Using Green Parakeet, I ink blended the "thanks" die-cut which is four layers thick. Added three sequins to finish it off with a little bit of bling. And there you have it for today.

Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

It's the 25th of March and time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge. All of the inspirational photos can be seen on Nichole's blog here. Izziyana Suhaimi merges the art of embroidery with paper, and her designs are beautiful. Since I'm not into stitching or embroidery, this was a real challenge for me but Nichole always encourages us to just have fun. So, for the first time I used my new Make It Market Mini Kit: Color Pop Florals and started with a piece of the paper collection. It not only had a gray background but it was printed on PTI's signature white linen paper. Linen is fabric so that's close to stitching, right? Don't want to keep you here any longer as I know there will be lots of beautiful creations on this blog hop. Enjoy!

I so wanted to add twine, rhinestones or gems but didn't want to overdo it. Wink of Stella Glitter Pen was used on the centers of each flower, but it's hard to see in my photo.
