PTI February 2018 Blog Hop

This is what you call really beating the clock with my entry for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. The idea is to use their inspiration photo to create a project. So cute!

Seeing that I don't own an Easter stamp or die or a bunny for that matter, I went with the pastel color scheme. Here's my card.

Thank you for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Hibiscus Burst and Harvest Gold
Ink: Green Parakeet, Hibiscus Burst and Harvest Gold

PTI 10th Anniversary Challenge: Stitching

Lizzie showed us her stitching talents creating the cutest travel Tic Tac Toe set out of felt. She now wears four hats for Papertrey Ink with her added responsibilities as the Stitching Ambassador. Yay, Lizzie! Since I'm not much of a sewer/stitcher, fortunately the challenge is to create a project using the stitching projects as inspiration. Whew, now I can participate! And guess what? I used some of my new PTI Pre-Anniversary Sale patterned papers.

Thanks for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments!

PTI MIM #219: Texture Kissing

Lizzie was this week's presenter for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge here, and she shared how to add texture to stamped images (hence the name, Texture Kissing).

It's been in the 90s here all week and too hot to be upstairs in my stamping room even with the ceiling fan blowing on me so I waited until the final hours to attempt Lizzie's texturing method. My biggest challenge was the lack of good background stamps and solid stamps that I thought would work. In need of a birthday card for my BIL, I was on the hunt for inspiration. Thanks, Heather, for this idea!

I loved the design but wanted it to be different even though her colors were perfect for a masculine card. Here's what I came up with and will definitely try this layout again.

My texturing was done using Birthday Style on the Simply Chartreuse balloon, Crackled on the Canyon Clay and Chevron Stripes on the Scarlet Jewel. I should have listened to Lizzie and used lighter inks, but I was determined to use more masculine colors.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Scarlet Jewel and Kraft
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Scarlet Jewel, Simply Chartreuse, Canyon Clay and VersaMark
Stamps: Birthday Style, Crackled, Celebrations, Background Basics: Chevron Stripes and Keep It Simple: Birthday
Dies: Birthday Style and Sketched Shapes
Other: SU dimensionals and Sharpie (fine tip)

PTI Make It Monday #127: Double Backgrounds

It's only Friday, and I'm posting my latest creation for this week's Make It Monday.  Dawn McVey inspired us to create a really fun and interesting double background using two different stamps. This was certainly a different challenge out of my comfort zone, but it's healthy to attempt those once in a while. Here's my "wishing you a very happy birthday" card using Crackled and Background Basics: Chevron Stripes for my double background:

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)
Cardstock: Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Harvest Gold, New Leaf, SU Baroque Burgundy & SU Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Kraft, SU Baroque Burgundy & SU Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Wonderful Words: Birthday, Cracked & Background Basics: Chevron Stripes
Dies: Wonderful Words: Birthday & Birthday Style
