PTI MIM #218: Watercolors With Die Cut Stencils

After having a very busy week, I didn't think I'd get a chance to play along with Lexi's challenge here on Nichole's blog to watercolor with die-cut stencils. So, here I am late Sunday night with a finished card and rushing to get this posted so I can go to bed. Without further ado, here it is.

Since I don't have an artistic bone in my body, my watercoloring leaves a lot to be desired…but it's fun to try. I also "need" those labels Lexi used for removable masking. Think a die-cut that isn't quite so intricate would also make it easier. I'll try this again when I have more time.

Stamps: Boutique Borders: Thanks and Background Basics: Super Stripes

PTI Create Along With Us: July 2015

Thanks to Betsy Veldman Papertrey Ink has started a new challenge where we select something the design team has created and use it for inspiration. The entries for this inaugural challenge can be found here.

Because I needed some sympathy cards (three to be exact), I was inspired by Dawn McVey's "Feel Better" card shown here where she showcases her new Vintage Linens stamp set.

Hibiscus Burst and Pure Poppy are not two colors I would layer even though I've seen lots of beautiful stamped images using them. I just had to try it for myself and after using Rosie Posie, I now realize Vintage Linens is a must-have set (not that I could ever duplicate the one and only Dawn McVey). Here's my card and thanks to MISTI I was able to stamp three in the time it would normally take me to make one. Thanks, Dawn, for the inspiration! There are lots more that inspire me so I am thrilled with this new challenge and will keep this bookmarked.
