Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

Seems like it was just the 1st day of 2016, and here we are at the 25th of January already. Nichole challenged us here to create a project using this colorful inspiration photo.

I love the colors but the design was a bit intimidating. Just had to try the challenge though. Being in desperate need of sympathy cards, I went with the card below. The colors might be a bit bold for comfort, but I think the layered butterfly helps soften it some. At least I'm convinced.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Stamper's Rustic Cream
Ink: Tropical Teal and Orange Zest
Stamps: Brushed Off and Keep It Simple: Sympathy
Dies: Life Is Beautiful
Other: Clear Vellum, Micro Glue Dots and Orange Enamel Dot (stash)

It's beautiful, Kathy, and I think very appropriate for a sympathy card. Love how you used the Brushed Off stamps.

Great minds think alike! I used Brushed Off and the Life is Beautiful butterflies, too! Great take on the inspiration photo!

You have no idea how hard I tried to use Brushed Off on this challenge & nothing came together for me. Love the way the paint lines trail off toward the butterfly & I think the colors & design work well for a sympathy card!

This really is a fantastic sympathy card, and I like how you combined the two different stamp sets.

This is very pretty Kathy! The two colors look pretty and the soft butterfly and Scripty sentiment are perfect for a sympathy card.
