PTI MIM #259: Ombre Cluster Stamping

Dawn delighted us with her Make It Monday for Papertrey Ink ombre cluster stamping. You can see her video and details here. Since I don't own Floral Sketches yet, I hadn't to peruse my stamp sets to see which ones might work. Not sure mine are as ombre looking as Dawn's, but I think I got the general idea. Here are the two cards I created.

Because it's difficult to see the Glitter pen used on the leaf veins above, I added a closeup below so hopefully you can see it better.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Rustic Cream and Dark Chocolate
Ink: Melon Berry, Canyon Clay and Terracotta Tile
Stamps: Leaf Prints, Mum's The Word and Harvest Berries
Dies: Sketched Shapes
Other: Gelly Roll Glitter Pen and Enamel Dots (Michaels)

Here is my second card using Mum's The Word in a cluster with somewhat of an ombre color palette.

Thanks for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Kraft
Ink: Terracotta Tile, Americana and Canyon Clay
Stamps: Mum's The Word

Papertrey August Blog Hop Challenge

So, here we are on August 25, and it's time for another Blog Hop for Papertrey Ink. You can see all the details here. Once again, we have another fabulous image to encourage us to play along.

My first thought was to get out my paintbrushes, but instead I pulled out my new Garden Gate stencil and ink blending tool. This is what I came up with blending Melon Berry and Distress Spiced Marmalade. My sentiment is done in Enchanted Evening. I also blended a bit of Enchanted Evening on the Vellum leaves. Added in five sequins for a little bling.

Thanks for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments! Can't wait to see what everyone else created this month.

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and Enchanted Evening
Ink: Melon Berry, Distress Spiced Marmalade and Enchanted Evening
Stamps: Painted Petals

PTI MIM #258: Cover Plate Tags

Playing along with this week's Make It Monday at Papertrey Ink. This week it was Laurie's turn to share something new with us by using cover plates to create tags.  My options are pretty limited with only one tag die and one cover plate, but I made it work like she showed us. The trick was to line up the cover plate over the tag so it looked good, and then die-cut it using the tag die. Her video here shows how to accomplish this. Because the tags are so small and the cover plate full card size, I made two different ones.

Below are individual photos of each tag.

PTI Create Along With Us Challenge: August 2016

What a fabulous August release at Papertrey Ink! You can see all the details and inspiration on Nichole's blog. This month we are challenged to select one of the design team member's card or project as our inspiration. Oh, how does one decide when there are so many awesome ones? I took the liberty to rotate one of Danielle's Thanksgiving Inspiration cards and turn it into a sympathy card. Here's her beauty below!

This is what I came up with for my sympathy card based on Danielle's inspiration.

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy and Lovely Lady
Ink: Smokey Shadow and VersaMark
Stamps: Boutique Borders: Congrats
Dies: Cover Plate: Pretty Frame
Other: Colorbok Carnival Paper Pad, Ink Blending Tool, Paintbrush, Black Watercolor, White Embossing Powder and Black Rhinestones

PTI MIM #257: Sentiment Strip Grounding

Lexi Daly showed us several ways to ground our images with sentiment strips in this week's Make It Monday at Papertrey Ink. My biggest challenge was finding images to use because I don't own a lot of non-floral sets. My other weakness though is sentiments. Guess I better rework my wish list once again now that we're in the midst of a new release. I'm in need of masculine cards for the next couple of months so that was on my radar. Here's what I came up with to satisfy the challenge.

Since I don't own the stamps yet for Feather Finery, I added some white paint splatters to my die-cuts.          Before adding my colored strips and feathers, I added score lines (thanks, Laurie, for the inspiration) to my white card base.

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Hawaiian Shores, SU Basic Gray and Black
Ink: VersaMark
Stamps: Keep It Simple: Birthday
Dies: Feathery Finery
Other: Paintbrush, White Watercolor, White Embossing Powder and SU Dimensionals

SAF Remix

The challenge this week for Papertrey Ink instead of a Make It Monday was based off the Stamp-A-Faire event held on July 23. Nichole challenged us to recreate one of the projects we completed for SAF, or we could complete one we didn't have time to tackle. Since I finished all of them, I decided to redo my Master Color Recipes card. Based off the bright and bold "Date In The Park" by Leonid Efremov, I used the recipe below substituting Canyon Clay for Terracotta Tile.

Here is my remake from SAF:

Not really sure which one I like better except I wasn't happy with how my trees turned out in my first card below. I'll let you be the judge.

Thanks for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments. Have an awesome week and hope you enjoy the Olympics as much as I do!
