PTI Make It Monday #121: Colored Vellum Flowers

Believe it or not, it's only Saturday night and here I am posting my card for this week's Make It Monday. Betsy Veldman did a tutorial sharing all her tricks for making lovely colored vellum flowers. Even though I have plenty of floral stamps, my flower dies are limited so I leaned on my Beautiful Blooms II #1 dies. Would love to try this technique again when I can heat emboss with the proper floral die.

The larger size bloom was sponged with Hawaiian Shores ink and lined using a SU Certainly Celery Maker. The smaller bloom was sponged with Harvest Gold and lined using a SU Blender Pen and Hawaiian Shores ink. It's hard to see here but I also used a Q-Tip to edge the smaller bloom. The layers were adhered with Zots, and I doubled them up to give the flower even more dimension. For the center of the flower, I finished it off with a sequin that coordinates with Hawaiian Shores. My BIL's sister will be having open heart surgery soon so I hope "our prayers" will lift her spirits.
