Create Along With Us: May 2017

Because it was Papertrey Ink May Release, our challenge is to select a card as inspiration from all those created by the Design Team. There were so many beautiful and unique designs it was hard to choose. Because we're getting ready for vacation, I wanted something I could create in record time. Yah, right! That didn't happen because I don't have the Ivy & Bloom dies that Keeway used on her ink blended/watercolored card posted here. Had to really scramble because the substitution ideas in my head didn't work. Plan C to the rescue and no time to remake. Here's my card.

The Paper Clippings: Thinking of You die cut was adhered using spray adhesive. After ink blending and waterbrushing Limeade Ice and Hawaiian Shores inks, I decided to silver emboss the "Thinking of You" portion only. That was a "duh" moment with the heat tool loosened the adhesive and didn't melt the powder very well. With some residual of EP and no time to start over, I die-cut that portion only from DCWV Silver Metallic paper. Because I couldn't line it up well enough to hide that, I outlined the silver letters using a gray SU marker. If I had the time, I would have started all over again but that's not going to happen. It is what it is, and that's a wrap.

Thanks for stopping by, and I really do appreciate your comments.
