PTI MIM #260: From Black and White To Color

Danielle shared her tips and tricks for stamping a black and white background, cutting off a border or die-cutting the center of the image. What's left of the main image is then colored using something like Copics or Zigs. That colored piece is then popped up and aligned with the strip or placed back in the die-cut opening. You can watch her video here on Nichole's blog. She showed two great examples: one cut vertically on the left and the other an oval die cut from the center. Here's my take for this week's Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink.

Cardstock: Harvest Gold
Ink: Royal Velvet, Harvest Gold and Winter Wisteria
Stamps: What The Doodle: Feathers
Dies: Mat Stack #6
Other: Bold Blossoms Watercolor Sheet, Zig Clean Color Real Brush, Paintbrush (splatters), WOS White Shimmer, Corner Chomper and SU Dimensionals

This is so pretty, Kathy, with its shades of purple. I prefer the look the way you did it with the center highlighted. It appears more finished/intentional that way.

This is gorgeous. It looks so striking where the image goes from b & w to colored.

Beautiful colors for the flowers and I think the oval die cut shape was perfect for these clusters of flowers!

What a sweet card. I love how you used the oval die cut to color the flowers just around the sentiment. Really lovely.
