Stamp-A-Faire 2016 Farewell

WOW, what a whirlwind of a weekend it was! With several interruptions, it took me the two bonus days to complete all nine challenges that started on July 23. This was a first-class event sponsored by Papertrey Ink. From Friday night's opener to Saturday night's farewell, I was impressed with all the time, energy and talents of Nichole and her fabulous Design Team. After following them for several years, they still amaze me with all their new tips, tricks and techniques and are the best designers in the industry. Thanks, PTI, for encouraging me to get out of my comfort zone!

Here's one last photo of all the cards I created this weekend. Sorry for the poor photo. I missed the sunshine today as I was in my stamping studio finishing all challenges.

All details are on my previous posts for this year's Papertrey Ink Stamp-A-Faire.

SAF 2016: Color Blocking With Lexi

Last but certainly not least is Lexi Daly sharing how she can create in Andy Warhol fashion. Loved the masking concept and definitely the results so I forced myself to find a stamp that I could use to try this technique. That was challenging enough in itself, but I conquered…even though not Master material. Stamp-A-Faire at Papertrey Ink comes to an end with this challenge. Now the waiting begins till I see my name announced as one of the random winners of a PTI Gift Certificate. (A gal can hope so I remain optimistic.)

Here's my card. It's Christmas in July!

Cardstock: Soft Stone and Stamper's Select White
Ink: Kraft, New Leaf, Autumn Rose, Pure Poppy and Hawaiian Shores
Stamps: Jolly Holiday and Stylish Sentiments: Holidays
Dies: None
Other: Rhinestones and SU Dimensionals

SAF 2016: Watercolor Like A Master With Kay

Kay Miller truly is the master of watercoloring in my world. Her fabulous, watercolored cards with an artistic flair surely convinced Nichole that she was the perfect one to share her tricks and tips with the stamping world. I enjoyed her video and accent so much I watched it several times, and each time it was a real treat. She is very talented and her creations look flawless.

SAF 2016: Pointillism Play With Heather

Hmm, Pointillism - ever heard of it before? Heather Nichols says, "It's a technique of painting in which small distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image."

Nichole shares details about this challenge on her blog for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire 2016.

SAF: 2016: Mastering Drips & Splatters With Lizzie

Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire 2016 challenge by Lizzie Jones captures Jackson Pollock's drips and splatters in the art world. This was by far the messiest challenge of the entire event. My watercolors wouldn't cooperate when trying to add larger drips of paint. I know now I need some reinkers or better watercolors. Never fear though as I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to accomplish this one before the deadline.

Here's my card:

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)

Cardstock: New Leaf, Summer Sunrise and Stamper's Select White
Ink: Enchanted Evening, VersaMark, SU Forest Foliage Reinker
Stamps: Keep It Simple: Birthday

SAF 2016: Masterpiece Inspirations With The Team

Another challenge for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire 2016 was to select one of the Design Team's artistic inspiration piece and create our own. Along with Heather Nichols, I chose "The Green Dancer" by Edgar Degas.

SAF 2016: Floral Impressionism With Melissa

Melissa Phillips is a natural for Impressionistic Florals. Her video was so intriguing I watched it several times. This challenge for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire 2016 was difficult for me because I don't own Floral Sketches or any stamp set that works well with these techniques. However, I gave it my best shot and will try again once I own Floral Sketches.

Cardstock: Stamper's Select White and Color Pop: Florals Watercolor Paper
Ink: Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Berry Sorbet, Autumn Rose, Harvest Gold and New Leaf
Stamps: Mini Kit: Color Pop Florals and Graceful Greetings
